Sending Email using NetAway

The procedure for changing the settings is fairly simple.

It depends on the email software you are using. Below you can find instructions for some standard email programs..

  • Windows Microsoft Outlook Express


  • Windows Microsoft Outlook 97/98/2000


  • Windows Microsoft Outlook XP/2002


  • Mac Microsoft Entourage


  • Mac Eudora


  • If your program is not in this list please refer to the program's help files or contact the manufacturer's technical service department to assist you.

  • Can Not Change SMTP details


  • Hotmail (HTTP email) users please note you do not need to make changes to your outgoing server to send and receive email.





    Outlook Express

    Experienced users can follow the following 9 steps otherwise see below for detailed graphical instructions:-

  • Select Tools Then Accounts from your Outlook Express Menu


  • Highlight individually each Email Account you will be using to send your
    email and click on Properties


  • Select the Servers tab


  • ***IMPORTANT*** Make a note of the Outgoing mail (SMTP): setting as you will need to change it back when you return.


  • Now change the outgoing mail (SMTP) setting to: relay.netaway.com


  • Under My Outgoing Mail Server, Click box that says 'My Server Requires Authentication' Then click on the Settings Box


  • Select the option "Logon Using" and enter your NetAway LoginID and password


  • Click on OK twice then click on close and continue to use your email as before


  • To test your amendments, please email test-support@NetAway.com and it will auto reply if the email has been received correctly.





  • Detailed Graphical Instructions

    Step 1 - Select Tools Then Accounts from the Outlook Menu

    Outlook XP/2002

    Experienced users can follow the following 8 steps otherwise see below for detailed graphical instructions:-

  • Select Tools Then Email Accounts from your Outlook Menu


  • Select View or change existing e-mail accounts and click on Next


  • Select the email account you need to change and click Change


  • ***IMPORTANT*** Make a note of the Outgoing mail (SMTP): setting as you will need to change it back when you return.


  • Now change the outgoing mail (SMTP) setting to: relay.netaway.com


  • Please do not click Test Account Settings as this will fail, even when all the settings are correct


  • Click the More Settings


  • In Internet E-mailSettings, select the Outgoing Server tab


  • Under My Outgoing Mail Server, Click box that says 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication'


  • Select the option "Logon Using" and enter your NetAway LoginID and password


  • Click on OK, then Finish and continue to use your email as before

    Entourage

  • Select 'Tools'


  • Select 'Accounts'


  • Click on 'Mail' tab


  • Select your email account, and double click


  • In the box 'SMTP server' enter 'relay.netaway.com'


  • Click on the 'Click here for advanced sending options' button.


  • Click the circle that says 'SMTP Server Requires Authentication'


  • Select the option "Logon Using" and enter your NetAway
    LoginID (without the @NetAway.com) and password


  • Click on OK to close the edit accoun window


  • To test your amendments, please email test-support@NetAway.com and it will auto reply if the email has been     received correctly.

    Step 4 - Select your email account, and double click

    Eudora

    Users can follow the following 6 steps instructions:-

  • Step 1- Click on 'Special'


  • Step 2 - Select 'Settings'


  • Step 3 - Click on 'Hosts'


  • Step 4 - Do not change the 'Incoming mail POP3 settings'


  • Step 5 - In the box ' Outgoing mail SMTP settings' enter 'relay.netaway.com'


  • Step 6 - Enable SMTP authentication.


  • Step 7 - Now Select 'Menu Special', then 'Settings', then 'Personalities' and then 'New'.

    Eudora


  • Step 8 - Configure a new personality with the NetAway Outgoing Server "relay.netaway.com" in the SMTP-field, please use your NetAway loginID (username without the @NetAway.com) and password.

    Eudora


  • Step 9 - Then only use this personality to send mail.


  • To test your amendments, please email test-support@NetAway.com and it will auto reply if the email has been     received correctly.

    Can not change my SMTP details

    If you can not amend your SMTP server details:

  • Sometimes you will find you can not amend the Outgoing SMTP mail server, as the box is greyed "out".


  • To correct this please create a new mail account will all your previous settings, but amend the outgoing mail     server setting as above.
